This small garden shed has a lean to roof and double front doors, so you can have an easy access to the interior. See my other DIY projects HERE.

We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. See all my Premium Plans HERE.

6x8 Lean to Storage Shed Plans | HowToSpecialist - How to Build, Step by Step DIY Plans (6)

Building the floor frame

First of all, you need to build the floor frame for the small lean to shed. Cut the joists from 2×6 lumber, after taking accurate measurements. Align the edges flush and make sure the corners are square. Drill pilot holes through the rim joists and insert 3 1/2″ screws into the perpendicular components. Place the joists every 16″ on center for a professional result.

Fitting the skids

Attach the 4×4 skids to the floor frame, so you lift it from the ground. In this manner, you will protect the joists from moisture. However, you should first choose the location for the shed. Level the ground evenly and then lay the skids into place. Lay the floor frame and secure it to the skids with rafter ties.

The next step of the project is to attach the wall frame to the floor of the shed. Align the edges flush and use a spirit level to make sure the walls are perfectly plumb. Drill pilot holes through the bottom plates and insert 3 1/2″ screws into the floor of the shed. Moreover, you need to lock the adjacent walls together tightly by inserting 3 1/2″ screws.
